Meet Françoise
From Law to Design: Françoise’s Journey — A Successful Career Transformation
In 2024, Françoise Kuth, founder of Galerie Liberté decided to rewrite her story.
After more than twenty years spent between law, architecture, and large-scale projects, she left a stable career to follow a dream that had quietly grown inside her: to create her own design gallery.
Today, Galerie Liberté reflects everything she loves — the harmony between emotion and space, and the belief that beauty should belong to everyone.
Nestled in Luxembourg, her gallery celebrates timeless design, craftsmanship, and the art of choosing with the heart.
Françoise welcomes each visitor like a friend, eager to share her latest discovery — a light, a chair, a story. Her world is one where design feels human and intimate, where every object carries a soul and every interior becomes a reflection of freedom.

She Said Yes!
SSY Françoise, can you tell us what made you take the leap and create Galerie Liberté?
Françoise In 2024, I left a comfortable position to dedicate myself fully to design. I wanted to stop dreaming other people’s projects and start creating my own. It felt like the right moment — now or never. I didn’t want to live with regrets.
SSY Your background is quite unique. How did law and architecture shape the person you are today?
Françoise Both taught me structure and patience.
Law trained my mind, while architecture opened my eyes. Together they gave me the tools to turn intuition into reality.
SSY How did you choose the name “Galerie Liberté”?
Françoise Freedom is at the heart of everything I do. It means following what moves me, even if it breaks the rules. Creating the gallery was an act of independence, but also of love — love for design, for people, for the idea of beauty in everyday life.
SSY Who are the designers you work with?
Françoise I collaborate with designers whose work I admire deeply.
Some are long-time friends, like Umberto Bellardi Ricci, whose lamps lighted up the gallery. I also love discovering new talents — people who design with both hands and heart.
SSY What guides you when you select a new piece?
Françoise I choose slowly, with instinct and emotion. Each object must tell a story, have presence, and evoke something real.
If it doesn’t touch me, I can’t show it to others.
SSY You often say that beauty should not be reserved for a few. What do you mean by that?
Françoise Good design should speak to everyone.
It’s not about privilege — it’s about emotion.
A beautiful object can change a space, even a small one, and make it feel alive.
SSY What does a typical day at Galerie Liberté look like?
Françoise It’s a mix of discovery and quiet moments.
I spend time talking with visitors, arranging pieces, imagining homes where each object could belong.
Every day feels different — and that’s what I love.
SSY Do you collect some of the pieces for yourself?
Françoise Yes, quite often!
Many pieces live with me before finding their future owners.
They become part of my daily life and inspire what I bring into the gallery next.
SSY How would you describe your interior style?
Françoise Warm minimalism, with a touch of imperfection.
I like spaces that breathe — natural materials, soft light, and objects that feel chosen rather than bought.
SSY What role does emotion play in your work?
Françoise It’s everything.
A gallery without emotion is just a shop.
I want people to feel something when they walk in — calm, curiosity, connection.
SSY What inspires you outside of design?
Françoise Travel, conversations, nature.
Sometimes a walk in the forest or a museum visit gives me more ideas than a whole catalogue.
Inspiration often comes when you stop searching for it.
SSY How do you see the future of Galerie Liberté?
Françoise I want it to grow gently, through meaningful encounters.
My dream is to make it a place where design meets people — not just collectors, but anyone who loves beautiful things.
SSY If you could give one piece of advice to someone wanting to start over, what would it be?
Françoise Trust yourself.
It’s never too late to begin again.
Every step, even the smallest one, brings you closer to what feels true.
SSY And finally — what does “home” mean to you?
Françoise Home is where beauty and peace meet.
It’s not about perfection; it’s about connection.
A place that makes you breathe deeper and smile when you walk in.
